Week 3 3D

Today,


We looked at what we had be assigned as homework, refining our CDU design satchel.


Heres my refined design, it is still incomplete.

My Design For a Bag

Today we also looked at designing an eco friendly mode of transport. We decided on a eco transport similar to the segway.

We chose this as a basis for our design as it already has very STRONG design elements that would be beneficial to any mode of transport.  I feel this would be beneficial for the older folk or the disabled. this would be an alternative to motor scooters.
The main factor that drew us to the segway was it is versatile. The things that we came up to incorporate into the segway would be: the segway to be solar powered, shade, eco friendly, appealing, family friendly, safe. 

Name ideas: Ecocaddy? , Eco Nomik, e' Co 


Function: Transport of all people, different ages and sizes.

Materials: Plastic, solar panels, steel, aluminium, electrics, rubber.


Style: Sleek, practical, attractive.


I really hope we can refine this idea next week as there are a few things that we could add to this design like a 2 seater segway (see below)

Week 3 2D

Today,

We went over last weeks homework.. our blogs and the background we were to create for our blogs. We also did a group exercise to generate design ideas and inventing options.

We were to choose 2 words within the class and go off individually to create 2 2D designs based on those two words. Initially we were to create 2 mind maps, one for each word and only then were we to COMBINE the ideas. As a class we came up with these two words:

1. Spaceship

2. Money

I drew my mind map in my sketch book as I was more comfortable laying it out on paper.

My two ideas were based on if a spaceship needed actual money, which would be the best way to trade and spend it. 

 

Idea 1: Barcodes
Idea 2: Fingerprint

(Although barcodes are similar to credit cards, barcodes would not need a pin number)

 

I thought of combining both ideas, scan the bar codes and scan your fingerprint.
